Getting Started

This section covers the basics of logging in to OP Moodle, updating your personal information and accessing your online courses.

You'll also find useful information on Moodle course basics, and managing your online study.

Moodle is an educational and interactive space where you will find your programme resources and engage in online learning activities.

Returning on-campus students: Please check the Campus Redevelopment Update notice for changes to computer suite availability and the location of the Student Success Team and IT Student Support Team.

Student Success

On-campus students, can come and see us in H Block, Lower Level, Forth Street.

No appointment necessary.

Learning Centre and Counsellor Support available.

IT Support

For help to set up your computer or to just get started learning online there are plenty of resources available from the Student IT Service Desk section of Student Success.

If you need further help contact the IT Service Desk on 0800 765 948 or email polyit@op.ac.nz. Please have handy your student id, your computer login name, your programme and, if known, your Moodle course. If necessary the service desk may ask you to access Bomgar student support.

Hours of service: 6 Jan - Early Feb 8am-5pm, then Mon to Fri 8am–8pm, Sat closed, Sun 2pm–6pm. Closed on Public Holidays.

Online Counselling

A Counsellor is available Monday evenings 6pm–9pm for Skype or phone appointment.

To make an appointment phone 0800 762 786 between 8.30am–5pm weekdays and ask for Student Health.

You will be asked to provide your Skype address and phone number.

If a phone call is preferred the Counsellor will ring you at your appointment time.
